Admissions for BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications)

Panjab University Admissions: A person who has passed +2 examination in any discipline with at least 50% marks and passed Mathematics as one of the subjects at Matriculation examination level shall be eligible to join the first semester class of B.C.A. Course

NOTE:-  (i)  10% weight-age be given for each subject of (Mathematics/Statistics) and (Computer Science/Computer Applications/Information Technology or equivalent) to the candidate who studied at 10+2 level at the time of admission in B.C.A. 1st Semester from the admissions of 2015.

(ii) That 20% weight-age in total to those students who studied (Mathematics/Statistics) and (Computer Science or Computer Applications or Information Technology or Information System) at +2 level be given.

Admissions for BBA  (Bachelor of  Business Administrations)

Admission to the first semester of BBA degree course shall be open to a person who has passed one of the following examinations conducted by a recognized Board/Council/University:-
(a) +2 examination securing at least 50% marks in aggregate;
(b) Any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent to
(a) as given above with requisite percentage of marks.

A candidate who has been placed under compartment in the +2 examination conducted by a Board/Bodies/Councils/University in India shall be eligible to seek admission to the First Semester of BBA course, provided he/she fulfils the following conditions:-
(i) He/she should have been placed compartment in one subject only;
(ii) He/she should have obtained at least 20% marks in the subject in which
he/she had been placed in the compartment; and
(iii) He/she should have obtained the requisite percentage of marks in the
an aggregate of the examination as laid down in the relevant regulations.

The admission of the candidate with a compartment as indicated above shall be provisional
and will be confirmed only after he/she has cleared the compartment in two consecutive
chances subsequent to his/her admission. In case the candidate does not clear the
a compartment at any of the two consecutive chances allowed to him/her subsequent to the
date of his/her admission, his/her provisional admission to the course shall stand cancelled.

Panjab University Admissions to join B.A,B.Sc,B.Com

Panjab University Admissions: A person who has passed one of the following examinations with a pass in English as one of the subjects shall be eligible to join the First Semester class of B.A. or B.Sc. (General/B.Sc.
(Bio-Info.) and Honours) degree course in a college affiliated to this University, however, a person who has not qualified English as one of the subjects at the +2 examinations, shall be eligible to join B.A./B.Sc.-Ist Semester provisionally subject to his/her qualifying the deficient subject of English from the parent Board /Body/ Council/ University in two consecutive chances subsequent to his/her admission, failing which his/her admission to B.A./B.Sc. Ist Semester and the result for the examination shall automatically stand cancelled.

About Panjab University Hostel

There are seventeen residence halls for students on the campus, 8 Each for boys and 9 for girls and a working women Hostel. These halls accommodate more than 6000 students. The University Hostels take pains to give its students a neat and clean environment and a comfortable place to live in. There are Wardens/Hostel Staff on duty round the clock. Each hostel has a dining hall and canteen, several deserts and water coolers, a visitors’ lounge, and invariably an outdoor court for badminton, volleyball etc.

The mess provides a balanced diet at reasonable rates. The Common Room is fairly well equipped with current magazines and newspapers. There is provision for indoor games, LCD TV and music system. Internet connectivity through wi-fi and cyber caféas been provided in each hostel.

Living in a hostel presupposes a high degree of integrity, consciousness, cooperation, tolerance and hard work for a bright future and good image of our institution.

  • Criminal conspiracy to rag;
  • Unlawful assembly and rioting while ragging;
  • Public nuisance created during ragging;
  • Violation of decency and morals through ragging;
  • Injury to the body, causing hurt or grievous hurt;
  • Wrongful restraint;
  • Wrongful confinement;
  • Use of criminal force;
  • Assault as well as sexual offences or unnatural offences;
  • Extortion;
  • Criminal trespass;
  • Offences against the property;
  • Criminal intimidation;
  • Attempts to commit any or all of the above-mentioned offences against the victim(s);
  • Physical or psychological humiliation;
  • All other offences following from the definition of “Ragging”.
  • Cancellation of admission.
  • Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges;
  • Withholding/withdrawing scholarship/fellowship and other benefits;
  • Debarring from appearing in any test/examination or other evaluation processes;
  • Withholding results;
  • Debarring from representing the institution in any regional, national or international meet, tournament, youth festival, etc.
  • Suspension/expulsion from the hostel;
  • Cancellation of admission;
  • Rustication from the Institution for a period ranging from 1 to 4 semesters;
  • Expulsion from the institution and consequent debarring from admission to any other institution for a specified period;
  • Fine ranging between Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 1 Lakh;
  • Rigorous imprisonment for up to 3 years.
  • Collective punishment: When the persons committing or abetting the crime of ragging are not identified, the institution shall resort to collective punishment
